The college had not previously run an Apprenticeship event for their students. The National Careers Service Inspiration Agenda team worked with the college to organise the event.

Syreena was a lone parent, unemployed and dealing with personal issues. She had previously worked as a PA for the CEO of an investment bank. Syreena was feeling confused with no clear direction.

Teklehaymanot arrived in the UK in 2014 from Eritrea.  In Eritrea Teklehaymanot had owned a pharmacy business but left to join his wife, a UK citizen

Ricardo* moved to England after losing his job in Portugal in local government.  He was supported by the National Careers Service and helped to find work.

Nigel* worked for Dairy Crest and was one of 125 employees facing redundancy.
