Prospects has been re-certified with both Investors in Diversity and the prestigious, Leaders in Diversity, by the National Centre for Diversity. This is a fantastic achievement for the employment, care and education company, following its acquisition by Shaw Trust at the end of 2017.
Prospects, one of the top 50 organisations in the National Centre for Diversity’s Top 100 Index 2018, was the first organisation in its sector to gain the Leaders in Diversity award in 2015. In both 2018 and 2017 Prospects was also nominated for the Best Large Company, winning in 2017.
The Investors in Diversity Award and Leaders in Diversity Award are recognised as more than just highly prized and prestigious national equality standards. They provide an all-encompassing methodology for improving Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) practices in the workplace.
Achieving these national equality standards demonstrates Prospects structured and planned approach to embedding EDI around a framework.
Nick Bell, Prospects CEO and Deputy CEO of Shaw Trust, has championed Prospects ongoing commitment to ensuring EDI is at the heart of our services and remains part of our organisational DNA.
Nick comments: “Our work, supporting young people and adults across the country, is dedicated to inspiring people to develop their potential. We don't judge those we support believing everyone should have an equal opportunity – whether they are young offenders, those living in care, adults who are long term unemployed, older workers, young parents, those who misuse drugs or substances, care leavers or those wanting to improve their life chances and communities.
“This commitment is reflected at Shaw Trust and together we are working to help to transform the lives of one million young people and adults each year by 2022.”
Antony Pearce, Director of Quality at Prospects, commented: “It has been a real journey and we have succeeded! Our commitment to diversity enables us to be role models for those we support and benefits our business. Thank you to everyone at Prospects, for their support to customers and colleagues, it is our positive attitudes and energy which defines us as a company and enables us to inspire people to develop their potential.”
