Teaching and Training

For those wishing to teach in the post 16 sector, in work based learning or any type of adult learning setting, the introductory course is the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. This course covers the basics of teaching and learning and replaces the Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS).

The course is made up of 6 one day workshops and assessed through assignments and an observed ‘micro-teach’. We run a number of start dates throughout the year, delivering the course intensively – normally one day a week over a 6 week period. We offer it via our centres or can arrange to come to you if there is a group.

For those who deliver training as part of their role, we offer a short 2 day workshop-based course that introduces participants to the knowledge and skills needed to deliver effective training sessions. On Day 2 participants complete a multi-choice quiz and a 15 minute ‘micro-teach’ which is observed by the course tutor. Successful participants will then receive a certificate.
