James gets apprenticeship support from the National Careers Service
“Once again on behalf of James and I a massive thank you for everything you have done, you have made such a difference.”
James was due to leave school and had unsuccessfully applied for a number of apprenticeships.
What Prospects did
James first met the National Careers Service team at the Bath Apprenticeship event. He and his father visited to find out more about apprenticeships as James is about to leave school and needed help with his CV, his application style and interview skills.
Following meeting at the event James and his father met the National Careers Service team in Bristol. At the session James met Marcus, an adviser with the National Careers Service, who supported James through mock interview sessions, and helped him create an Action Plan. Before James left the session Marcus gave him a pack to support his applications.
James has now received an offer of a level 3 apprenticeship and has other interviews lined up. Hopefully James will have more than one apprenticeship to choose from and both he and his father are pleased they met with the National Careers Service. James’ father comments: “I do feel like asking questions of the school, why are they not providing support like this, not everyone will be lucky like James to be with his parent and get the advice he did.”
James is now hoping to complete a level 3 apprenticeship before going on to a level 4 or 5 higher apprenticeship.
James’s father continues: “Once again on behalf of James and I a massive thank you for everything you have done, you have made such a difference.”
